“Hands down the best decision I ever made was hiring Heather as my LC. I knew I wanted to breastfeed my children but I didn’t exactly understand how it all worked as a first time mother. Most importantly when something wasn’t working, I didn’t know how to work through the issues and not give up as it was something I felt strongly about doing. Books are great but I found I needed professional help. I ended up nursing each of my three kids for 12 months but it would not have been possible without the support and knowledge of my lactation consultant, Heather. My experience with nursing was not easy. My milk supply was an issue from day one due to my C-section. All of my children had a dairy allergy that went undetected by my doctors but it was Heather who first suggested I remove dairy from my diet after I sent her a middle of the night text her about the all night crying and gas issues my firstborn seemed to have. She said “Do me a favor, jot down what you ate the last two days and send me a picture of your baby’s poopy diaper” so I did and she responded back “You might want to consider eating less dairy and see if that makes a difference.” I did and boy was it a night and day difference. I mentioned it to my doctor that week and sure enough when they tested the baby’s stool she had a dairy allergy. I can’t recommend Heather enough for a lactation consultant. She’s extremely passionate, knowledgeable and the ultimate professional. You have to get super intimate with your LC and you want to feel a connection and that they truly care and want to help. That’s exactly what you’ll get with Heather.”
