10+ Years Inpatient & Outpatient Experience

Hello! Thank you for visiting. My pronouns are she/her/hers. I reside in Berkley, MI with my three beautiful children & husband. I am CPR, NRP certified and fully vaccinated.

am a Registered Nurse since 2007 and became a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2012. I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. My nursing career has consisted of working Women’s Health in the hospital setting on the GYN medical-surgical & Mother Baby Care units.

As a Lactation Consultant, my experience includes assisting parents with feeding their new baby, however they need help. We work together in developing a feeding plan that works for them. I am experienced with babies of all ages & sizes. From preterm babies to toddlers. I provide support to families for a variety of difficulties. Presently, I work in the hospital and provide private in-home consultations.

found my passion in Lactation after my first daughter was born in 2010. She taught me the introductory course to breastfeeding and making milk. I had questions: Is she getting enough? Is her latch really okay? When is the best time to pump & store breastmilk? I read book after book. My knowledge of breastfeeding was novice at best. She & I, we learned together. She made breastfeeding easy. She made learning a bottle very hard. She opened my eyes to a new world as I began to question my career.

The Lactation Consultants in the hospital became my mentors, life long friends. My daughter became my inspiration. She helped me realize my passion. I knew I wanted to learn more, teach more and become more for my patients. It was in my heart to help other new parents with the challenges & joys of feeding their babies.

Over the course of two years, my hard work and dedication to studying Breastfeeding & Lactation transitioned from volunteering to a new career as an IBCLC. And then my twin daughters were born…

They made breastfeeding initially difficult. Latching troubles, painful nipples, fast let down, oversupply, plugged ducts, nipple confusion, producing enough milk to feed them & store milk for them both?! It was overwhelming. This time, from my education, new knowledge & resources, I had answers. We worked through the hardships and achieved a successful breastfeeding journey.

My career has given me the skills & tools to help where I can. My experiences as a Momma has given me the ability to understand just where you are.

i am happy to help!
